  • Messaging problem

Sorry to have to post this here but have sent messages to a couple of members, -one being Chuck W - re my problem but none seem to get through.

And that is the problem, i.e. was trying to PM a member but keep getting a "You are not authorized to create this post" box (see below).

    What gives? How to avoid?

    Hi Phil

I sent a message to you two days ago; no glitches on my screen. Did you receive it?

        Hi Phil

It looks to me like something coming from our server rather than your computer. I'll try to chase it down.

          Hi Phil

I tweaked one setting. Please let me know whether this resolved the issue.

Can you try one more thing? Create a new account (use a name like Philip Smythe, so I can recognize it. Then, once I've blessed it, let's see if the messaging works from it.

Damn. How about this: use Philip Smythe and give it sprice1h@comcast.net as the email address. If everything works, I'll delete your current account and change the email address in your new one to your actual email address.

Does private messaging work? If so, I'll go ahead and delete your old account.

You can't let the software win an arm wrestling match.

Well at the moment the damn machine is winning, hands down.

                        As, unfortunately, still no luck!

Tried you and another member and same result both times.

That's a bummer. Although the error message clearly comes from our server, something on your end is triggering it. Do you have security software, popup blockers, ad blockers, and such on your computer? If so, can you turn them off briefly enough to try sending a message? Are you using Windows (version?), Apple or some other operating system?

Windows system, and no blockers, etc my end (as far as I know) Steve. Tried a few other things at my end but unfortunately nothing works.

The software package has a user forum, and I can post an inquiry there. The more information I can put in, the more likely I am to get a solution. Windows version? Processor (Intel or Ryzen; version)? RAM (amount and version)? Computer age and manufacturer?
