  • Looking for rug ID

    This is another rug I've owned for decades. And I never realized how predominate the abrash is, and it is the same on the back. The first two pics are close-ups of the back. The color is a bit off because I used a LED flash light. I would appreciate any info about it.

    Henry,
    To my eyes, this is a 1950s-1960s product of northern Afghanistan. The field motifs are a modern development, and not from any particular tribal tradition. Several of the border motifs are traditional Turkmen, which fits with the region.

      If the foundation is cotton it is most likely Pakistan production, not Afghan.
