Just purchased this old Sarab Azerbajan / Persian rug mostly because of light green field. I have a question on hot pink dye. From my experience with Armenian rug in indicated mid 1920'. It this also true with this type?

Chuck - these photos are not mine. You are right here. But these from a friend of mine whom i bought it from. Have to say they are quite accurate. Please find attached some images by myself. Quite same. As for the green it is more like swamp green for me. And it is more juicy on the face than on the bottom. I even lean towards camel hair. As for the manufacture date i lean towards... 1970. my feelings here are based more on the iconography. it reminds me of spaceships in 1970' cartoons. So 70' it is)Originally posted by Chuck Wagner View PostKonstantin,
You'll need to wiat until you receive it and evaluate whether that is a green, or brown dye in the field. Vendor photos are notoriously inaccurate. The hot pinks started showing up n the late 1800's but have been in regular use by many cultures ever since.

Hi Konstantin
The colors of an image on a screen (computer monitor, phone, etc.) will be a little different on every screen. There are ways to calibrate monitors, but I doubt that any of us goes to that much bother.
