WWII Trophy Khamseh

Just to share an interesting Khamseh rug I purchased recently. Its not the best in a type but deserves some attention. It was taken from Germany in 1945 as a war trophy and presented to a Soviet Minister (People’s commissar) of Tank Construction Industry. The family kept it till very recent. As a valuable it was always kept on a wall from the time purchased probably around 1920’ so in absolutely mint condition. An interesting feature is a sudden design change – could see in on a bottom row. Sadly the weave density is very low.

Thank you Joe. I have seen much much better quality of this type. But still all in all there is something in this one

Hi to all, extremly interesting story, almost 80 years ago. Could write a book about such a history, any foto s, letters, newspapers , to corroborate ?
