Malayer ID/Age?

Hi all -- this Malayer rug is some version of old, but once again, I know little else! (It's about 4x7 for scale.) Any thoughts from you all would be hugely appreciated.

Nice rug! Is that a machine made border where the fringes should be at the bottom of the piece? I had a piece someone did that to the sides and I removed it and bound it with wool yarn and a needle. Just saying that as it’s an easy fix if that is the case.
