  • Research Site - Helpful

I have often said on this forum there are limited sources for research other than books and the long time collectors and enthusiasts. I stand corrected.

Some misguided sellers and collectors rely upon eBay to price or date their piece(s). This, I would highly discourage. Probably 90% of the listing I see on eBay are incorrect. Some of the listings come from long time sellers according to their profile. It’s actually shocking.

Back to the topic. I have discovered Academia.edu

The work posted there is done on a very high degree of education and subject matter. Most if not all include references for their work. Sometimes it’s in a different language but that is easy to work around thanks to our technology.

Whether you are researching Turkoman, Tekke or Turkish pieces or history for example, there is a lot of information to be found.

    Hi Joe

I turned your mention of Academia.edu into a link to the site. Hope this is OK with you - I can reverse what I did if it isn't.

Steve, that is a great idea. I use the free version but apparently the paid version unlocks even more. It’s $1 I believe to unlock it.
