Greetings all,
We have received word that long time member Yonathan (Yon) Bard passed away on June 21, 2026 at the age of 94. Yon had been a member of Turkotek since the late 1990's, with a particular interest in Turkmen weavings, and was a member of the New England Rug Society. He had substantial knowledge of chuvals, and a collecting focus for him was pieces with what he termed "super" chemche guls, that have extra diagonals. He will be missed by all of us. His wife of 67 years, Dora, informs us that a memorial service for Yon will be held on August 23 at 11 a.m. at the Allen House on Webster Street on West Newton.
