: after perusing this board i am curious and ask -
: do you guys really enjoy this?
: can't you realize that C14 has no relevance in the dating of oriental rugs?
: the labs that do this work need the business and they are just as much in the dark as you rug collectors!
: the only reliable method available at this point is comparative analysis of similar pieces to create a continuum -
: please start using your energies in a more realistic way that might really provide something useful for oriental rug studies
To Jack Cassin aka info@weavingartmuseum:
Mr. Cassin, this is not a board for "anonymous" postings and I think everyone prefers it that way.
"The only reliable method is comparative analysis of similar pieces to create a continuum-"??? Perhaps you are correct, but I find this highly amusing in light of your comments elsewhere that the so-called Cyr Turkoman is a late copy of absolutely no importance. How then does one commence this comparative analysis of similar pieces to create a continuum when you would discard related pieces?
By the way, many of us do enjoy this.
