Finally, I have achieved an equilibrium of sorts with regard to rug literature versus rugs. I now have more books than I have actually read.
As Jerry has suggested, I first acquired a few rugs before searching out a few tomes on rugs. It all started out innocently enough, with a book or two on general identification. Soon enough the books became more specialized, then a subscription to Hali. Most of my books were purchased as remainders at discount book stores. Soon I found that I "needed" that new book coming out soon, and would buy at the "pre-published price".
Now I actually have several books that I have bought and have not yet finished reading before the next issue of Hali arrives.
I have a "backlog" of rug books.
Now I guess I will have to work on getting a backlog of rugs....
