I was delighted by the positive responses to my last post, so I've decided to present more pieces from my collection here in no particular order. Here I have a rug from the Konya region, a Cihanbeyli. It has vibrant colors and very soft, lustrous wool. The damage to the edges and ends is clearly visible in the photo. The pile is quite worn in the center of the main field, but it remains long and intact in the border. I've included photos of similar pieces. I think the rug dates from the mid-19th century, or perhaps even earlier. I welcome any opinions on this piece. 4
