I want to pass along this note; that Dennis Marquand passed away last week, written by his son Wesley:
"Late Wednesday night my dad passed away at home. He was a true friend, a generous mentor, a loving husband, and an incredible father. My heart hurts but I know the world is a better place for him having been in it." "He liked to like people, therefore people liked him." -Mark Twain" Dennis was, for those who did not know him, a purveyor of rug books. He and his son Wesley's business is: https://www.rugbooks.com/ I had met him a couple of times and visited with him at the Istanbul ICOC. Genial, knowledgeable and someone passionate about rugs and textiles and, especially, books about them. Patrick Weiler |

I knew Dennis for many years, seeing him often when I lived in LA. We shared an interest in non Turkmen weaving as well as textile books. Unpretentious and knowledgeable, especially regarding the literature on rugs, he was always a pleasure to be with. I will miss him!
