Forty is doable, but there's the question of the format by which they're related to the text. I haven't seen the book, but I'm guessing that each photo is accompanied by some kind of explanation of why it's in the book. I can create a page that has a link to each photo or a page of thumbnails that link to each photo, but somehow it should be related to the book.

I thought keep it simple. Just give the colour image the books plate number from the B&W version as a title. Have them on one file with a link to the book itself at the top. Then all you have to do is have the color eg on one tab and find the online books page on another and skip back and forth (or the book in front of you and look up at the screen).

As it is, to read the online book you have to ctrl + left or right arrow to change page to see the text< then>picture.

I should have emailed you rather than discuss it all here. I started out here as I thought someone might be in touch with Jurg. The original ref is useful best delete our chat.
