Default Double medallion rug

Good day to all,

I had a look at some carpets my grandmother has and I could not
identify the origin of this one.

It is wool on cotton probably not older than 1950
Would anybody care to have a look and share his thoughts please?

Here
https://photos.app.goo.gl/SmJZZrUCD7qUYaKx7 you can find the pics

Regards

guido

Hi Guido,

It is Afshar from the area around Kirman. I think you are about right on the age.

O-r-r-r....

Does anyone think it is from farther west around Shiraz and Fars province? The two color shirazi binding on the selvages is more typical of that area.

The distinctive characteristics of the weavings of persons with specific tribal affiliations tend to blur in later production.
