Default Panderma and Yomut Kepse Gul Design of my great-grandfather, former consul of Inhambane/Mocambique

Dear Carpet-fans,
let me present you two main carpets, we've got from my great-grandfather. He lived in Inhambane/Mocambique from 1880 until 1923 as a merchant with trade relations to Turkey, India, Portugal, Germany and many more. He maintained contact to famous people around the world and often received gift from these people. Finally he got second consul before he returned to Germany.

So far about him, but I'd love to hear stories or some interesting facts about these wonderful carpets.

Thank you so much in advance!
Best regards!

First, welcome to Turkotek. Because of a family emergency I've been out of touch for several weeks.

I do ask one thing. Newcomers hardly ever notice the paragraph atop this page saying the we don't allow anonymous or pseudonymous posting. I you'll send me (sprice@vcu.edu) your real name, I'll change your user name to your actual name.

Regards, and my apologies again.

My apologies too. I rely on a small program that warns if there are new posts on the boards. I forgot that it doesn’t work for threads waiting for approval so I didn't see this one.
