Pod Blacha Palace, Warzaw Poland

Hi travelers

For a couple of years ago I was in Warzaw in company with my wife Karen and a group of her colleagues ( family doctors). While the doctors were discussing there professional affairs I succeeded to escape and found an interesting "cave" in the central Warzaw - a carpet museum in the Pod Blacha Palace with almost 200 carpets - many of them antique Caucasian rugs.

Hi Ivan

What an unexpected place to find a carpet museum! Do you know anything about the history? Did a local nobleman collect oriental rugs?

Regards, and thanks for the interesting photos.

Hi Steve

I have found this information on www:

The carpets on display are from the collection of Teresa Sahakian Foundation handed over to the Royal Castle around 1990.
The collection was accumulated of her husband Georg Sahakian, of Armenian origin and expert on carpets.
